I spent my summers with my grandmother Eleanor, in an old house near Helmsley. She never called herself a witch.
“Some things you don’t know with your head. You simply feel them.”
Eleanor, my grandmother
She was the first to notice that I read people differently. I could walk into a room and know that two people had argued, even while they were smiling at each other. That was when she told me what the women of our family had done for generations: work with the energy of a person and a place. Intention, herbs, candles, symbols, old words. And she added that the strongest energy of all arises between two people. That is why I work with relationships.
The first person I helped
Her name was Sarah. For months she could not let a man go. He did come back into her life, but what mattered came later: for the first time Sarah could speak to him calmly, without the fear of losing him. They began again, on entirely different terms.
People come to me with the same things: he has gone, he is here but everything has gone still, someone has come between you, you cannot let go. I look at the situation first and only then say what can be done. If the work is not needed, I will tell you straight.
“I can show you the door. I cannot open it for you.”
